What Do You Eat When You’re Sick?

Posted on March 15, 2010 By akemp (Edit) 4 Comments

ChixsoupThis past weekend, I was shut up in my room with a fun little stomach bug. Needless to say, while food was the LAST thing on my mind, I knew that I had to eat something, or else I’d waste away to nothing! Okay, I’m exaggerating, but you know what I mean. :)

In the midst of me trying to eat tomato soup, applesauce, mashed potatoes or Saltine crackers, I asked myself, “What do other people eat when they’re sick?” I know that they say nothing cures whatever ails you like chicken noodle soup, but I don’t think that’s true at all. I personally hate chicken noodle soup. With a passion actually. If that’s the cure all be all soup, then I’d rather be sick for the rest of my life. Maybe if someone made me a homemade variety, but the store brought kind is atrocious.

So, I’m posing the question to you, my faithful blog readers.

What do you eat when you’re sick?

Cinnamon toast. Fast, easy comfort food. It’s also strangely soothing when you have a sore throat.

I love cinnamon toast! My dad makes it with cinnamon sugar and butter, and toasts it in the bottom of the oven. Pure heaven! I don’t know if I could eat it when I was sick though. Hmm, maybe I should try it? And how does it help with sore throat? Wouldn’t that hurt?

You’d think it would hurt, but I tried it last time I had a cold and it made my throat feel better!
